(So do you want to skip right now, or wait for Darkness to come online sometime and get sorted?)

(Let's just skip, we already know what house Darkness's character is in, anyway.)

(sorry, darkness, i guess we didn't talk about that with you.  we were going to roleplay the sorting, and then skip to the fifth book, when our characters would be fourth years.  the earlier books wouldn't be as fun for us because the exciting parts happen mostly to the main characters.  we wouldn't have many action scenes.  the fifth book will be much more exciting to roleplay because of Umbridge and the DA.  plus, our characters will be old enough to date people, which some of us want them to do.  when you post your sorting, we'll skip to the fifth book, if that's okay with you.)

(Remind me why we are doing a gooshy love roleplay please. I'm still a little confused on that part.)

(we are not doing a "gooshy love roleplay", L, we are doing a magic/school/friendship roleplay with a little bit of romance invololved because that is what the Harry Potter books are about.  if you don't post your sorting soon, we'll skip it.)

(Anyway.... let's just start the fifth year. It's not like we don't know which house Charlie is in, anyway.)

Chander was sitting on the train to Hogwarts. It was his fourth year, so he was fourteen. He stared out the window and absentmindedly stroked his pet cat, Sable.

Outside, the platform was crowded.  Ti wove through the witches and wizards.  "Hurry," she called to her brothers, "We're going to miss the train!"  They reached the Hogwarts Express and clambered aboard.  They passed a compartment full of Hufflepuffs.  "Hey, Josh,"  said one of them, "it's good to see you again.  You can sit here if you want, but there's not much room."

"That's okay," said Josh.  "I'll sit with Ti.  Meet my little brother, Nick."  The Hufflepuffs all waved and smiled at Nick.

"i hope you'll be joining us in Hufflepuff," one of them said.  The train began to move.

"Come on," said Ti, "We should find somewhere to sit."  Ti led the way, looking for an empty compartment.  She would have sat with Ginny, but Loony Lovegood was also in the compartment.  Everywhere was full until they came to Chander's compartment.

"Let's sit here," Josh said.

"But Josh," Ti protested, "He's a Slytherin,"

"That doesn't mean he's evil." Josh said.  Ti stuck her tongue out, but followed him into the compartment.  Where else could she sit?

Chander glanced up as he heard the compartment door slide open. He recognized Ti and Josh. He had had a few classes with them in his previous years at Hogwarts.

The three of them sat down.  Ti completely ignored Chander.  Nick was grinning from ear to ear.

"I can't wait to get to Hogwarts!" he said.  Josh frowned.

"I think we should tell him, Ti,"

"Tell him what?"

"You know... about Cedric.  And Voldemort."  Ti crossed her arms.  Why did he have to bring that up?

"Who's Cedric?" Nick asked.  Ti took a deep breath.

"Listen, Nick," she said.  "Hogwarts isn't all fun and games.  Magic can be dangerous.  A student, Cedric Diggory, died last year.  So be careful.  And also, there night be an evil wizard on the loose.  we didn't tell Mom and Dad because they might not let us come back.  They're muggles, they don't understand."  Nick looked confused.  Ti glared at Josh.

"We thought it would be better if you heard it from us." he said.  "But don't worry.  Ti and I won't let anything bad happen to you."

Chander ignored them, staring out the window at the platform. The train began to move, slowly at first, then gathering speed, and the people turned into blurs of color and flashes, waving at the train.

Without looking away from the window, Chander said, "How do you plan on doing that? The three of you would be dead in seconds if you ran into a deatheater. Not to mention Voldemort."

Ti glared at him.  "So you believe he's back, then?  I thought you Slytherins all thought Harry was a liar," she had read all those insulting Daily Prophet articles, and didn't believe a word of them.  Ron was Harry's best friend, and Ginny was Ron's sister, so as Ginny's friend, Ti supported Harry fully.  "Voldemort and his followers wouldn't dare come to Hogwarts, anyway," she snapped.

Chander looked over at her lazily. "Of course I believe he's back. I know he's back. Most Slytherins do. After all, he was in our house." He turned back to the window. "But you're right that they won't dare to come to Hogwarts-- not yet, anyway."

Ti frowned.  Chander was so annoying!  Pointedly, she turned her back on him.

"I think we're almost at Hogwarts," Josh changed the subject.  "Just wait 'til you meet Hagrid, Nick, he's amazing!"
