"I mean like, school kind of boring." Narkio said, grinning slightly.

"Still depends." Said Zoe. "Anyway..." She flipped to page 128. The title at the top of the page read, "cures and antitodes for possesion."

Enya sat down with Possesion: The Cure and flipped through it.  It was full of potion recipes.  She read one.

"the eskimo tribe who hunts polar bears in the south pole believes this to be the on ly way to c ure possession.

Ingredients:

The shell of a slug

The horn of a doe

The lung of hammerhead shark

12 frog ears"

Enya groaned.  "This book is useless!"

Zoe began reading her book.

"There are several proposed "cures" for possesion, but none have been proven to work except one. You will find it below, written in the Samari script. Translate it if you dare."

Zoe sighed. "I guess if we don't find it in any of the other books, we'll have to try this."

"Okay, but if we do have to get the ingredients for this, I call the hamerhead lung!" Nariko said, grabbing a book titled Possession: How it Works and blowing on the cover. Dust sprayed up, making her cough.

Enya snorted.  Then she sighed and reached for another book.  "I'm guessing none of you can read Samari script, then.  I sure can't"

"Samurai? Like ninjas with swords? I don't think I can read Japanese, but I can understand drawings!" Nariko said, trying to balance on her good foot like the typical Kung-Foo stance.

Zoe rolled her eyes. "SAMARI, Nariko. You know, like the SAMARIAN GODS. OUR PARENTS. Anyway, aren't you Japanese? You should be able to understand it."

"I found a book on Samari script in the library once," Vinotri said."It was a while ago, though, so I don't know if I'd be able to remember."

"If you can remember at least a few of the characters, we should be able to decode it." said Zoe.

Enya skimmed through the table of context and the index of her book.  It all just seemed to be about doing the possessing, not curing it.  she looked at Vinotri hopefully.

VInotri took the book from Zoe and looked down at the carefully calligraphed characters. It didn't look like a particularly long passasge, but she had a feeling that didn't mean it was a simple cure. " 'Due to the nature of this cure, we cannot write it down for fear that it would fall into the wrong hands,' " she translated. "Nice. They're not actually going to tell you what it is. 'However, if you go to the High Temple of Lisarro, and they judge your intentions to be honest, they may show you the way to relieve an individual from the burden of possession' "

Enya stretched out on the floor, exhausted.  "I don't know... I guess we'll have to do some more research... let's figure it out tomorrow."  She grabbed a sleeping bag and pillow from her bag and closed her eyes.  The fire began to dim, sending flickering shadows across the darkening cave, until it went out altogether.

"Notice how in all the action movies, the hero always finds something bad, stick their nose in it, and almost get killed every at every turn." Nariko said, stretching out her leg and laying on top of the bag.

"And you keep worrying that they're gonna die, and you have to remind yourself that it's impossible since there are two sequels." Zoe added.
