Crow smiled, her eyes sparkling wickedly.  she was looking forward to the hunt.  the dark forest always held opportunities for mischief.  then her smile darkened.  from the depths of the forest, she'd heard something unmistakable.  a cat's yowl.

Eagle spun around just in time to see the first warroir emerge from the bushes.

Falcon had known there was something near. Quick as lightening, she turned her head towards the forest, her sharp yellow gaze piercing through the thick undergrowth. Her beak opened and out came a shrill, echoing shriek, warning her clanmates of danger. At the same time, there was a chorus of yowls as the cats pounced.

As Puma crept silently through the forest, she could almost feel the excitement emanating from her clanmates. Today, they would fight. Today, they would risk their lives to take back their territory from the birds. They approached the place where the birds were gathering to hunt, and at the flick of a tail, gave the batle cry and leapt at the birds.

Tiger emerged from the bushes and shared a look of pure hatred with Eagle before they became locked in combat.

Puma leaped onto the bird warrior Falcon, screeching and clawing as Falcon tried to fly away.

Tiger slashed a deadly blow, but Eagle ducked under it. Jumping up in the air, she clawed on Tiger's face, leaving scars that would tell the tale of a battle. Eagle became aware that Falcon was being attacked very feircly, so Eagle quickly soared over and launched an attack at Puma.

Crow watched as a catclan girl raced toward her.  she was in her animal form, a cheetah. Crow morphed into her bird form and flew in to meet her enemy. she circled around Cheetah, diving in to scratch at her flesh, then flapping up out of her reach. Crow was a good fighter, but Cheetah was larger and very swift.  as Crow began to dive, Cheetah quickly turned to attack, rearing up on her hind legs.  her claws slashed across crows wing, and the young bird warrior was sent spinning to the ground, her right wing broken.

Eagle quickly pulled out of the attack at Puma. She went at Crow, hoping to grab her and fly to safety, but Tiger was ready for that.

Tiger hit Eagle square in the chest. The blow sent Eagle's mind spinning. She didn't feel herself hit the dirt. She fell straight into unconsiousness.

Falcon swooped to the side, and at the last moment dove towards Cougar's face. Falcon could see the shock in the catclan warrior's eyes as she raked her talons across the left side of her face. Falcon hovered just above the cat's reach, assessing the damage she had inflicted on her opponent. There were three bloody, oozing gashes down Cougar's face, one barely missing her eye. Good! Falcon thought with satisfaction. That ought to blind her, at least!

Tiger snarled at Falcon. This was unexceptible. Launching herself at Falcon, Tiger jumped at the bird while they were admiring the gashed face of a fellow Cat Clan warrior.

It was hard to miss the giant orange furball hurtling towards her, but Falcon was busy with Cougar. Her reaction was just a hair too slow, and Tiger caught the tip of Falcon's claw, dragging her down with the catclan warrior.

Good. Thought Tiger, as she pinned Falcon to the ground. An easy kill. Tiger snarled and gloated Falcon as she unsheathed her giant claws and reached for the sky. Like an axe down came Tiger's paw.

At the first sign of battle, Dove had taken to the air and perchedin a tree. Being a small bird, she stood no chance against the largecats, who most likely could kill her without any trouble. But when shesaw Falcon in trouble, she couldn't just sit there. She dove, aimingfor right between Tiger's shoulder blades.

Like Dove, Siamese mostly stayed out of the fray. Staying at the edges, occasionally she nipped out a couple of tail feathers as a distraction, but mostly she kept her eyes out for someone in trouble.

(I know I'm double posting, but nothing's happening.)

Siamese saw Dove dive out of the corner of her eye and turned, then smiled. A smaller bird, perfect for someone housecat sized. Watching carefully, she pounced just before Dove's beak connected with Tiger's back. Dove's beak sliced down Tiger's spine as she was pulled to the ground, Siamese's claws in her side.

Dove fainted as her feathers turned red from the wound, knowing the chance she would survive was very, very slim.

Tiger snarled at the small, now red bird. She pulled away from the attack and loosened her grip on Falcon. Her eyes darted over to Dove. Blood was soaking her feathers. Tiger tore her eyes away from Dove and recountered on Falcon. But a sharp pain on her back just loosened the grip on Falcon even more.

Siamese stared at the dying bird before her, before scampering out of the middle of the battle, amazed at what she had done. Sure, the bird had been the enemy. But it had been small and weak. Its best efforts at wounding Tiger left only a cut, although painful.

Cheetah watched the scene in fascination, wondering at her friends' bravery. then she turned back to her own opponent, to find that crow was no longer lying on the ground before her. while cheetah was distracted, crow had managed to drag herself under a bush, hoping she hadn't left a trail of blood in her wake. Cheetah growled in rage and stalked into the thick of battling cats and birds.

Tiger foolishly tried to see if the wound was bad. Twisting around to look at her back, all the time thinking that Falcon was still pinned under her large paw.

As soon as Falcon felt Tiger's grip loosen enough, she eased herself out from under the gigantic paw. She flapped up to safety, surveying the battle. Her eyes locked on Dove, who was lying on the ground, her beautiful white feathers stained with blood. Screeching with fury, she launched herself at Siamese as the cat slunk back to the sidelines.
