Shadows Burning

Elisa noticed the sudden change in color of Miravi's eye's.

"Do your eyes just, normally change color?" Elisa questioned.

 "Oh, um, yeah. They tend to do that," Miravi answered, nervously glancing at the campfire.

"Oh." Elisa said. She noticed Miravi's nervous looks at the campfire. "There's nothing to be afraid of. The fire won't get to you."

Leksi felt nervous too. soon, chiron would introduce her to the other campers, and then she and the rest of her cabin would perform in front of the whole camp

Elisa soon noticed that the Apollo kids had their instruments. She then wondered what they would be playing. Most of the Apollo campers seemed excited to perform, but one, another new girl, looked like she was having stage fright.

"What were you going to say to me, there by my cabin?" Miravi asked Elisa as they approached the other campers. She was trying to not think about the campfire that to her seemed like it was going to rise up and engulf her.

"Oh, um. I don't know. I guess my curiosity got the better of me." Elisa said.

"Oh," Miravi replied, not knowing what else to say. "So, whose daughter are you?"

"Um," Elisa said. "My father is Hades."

"Oh," Miravi said, again at a loss for words.

"So, what's your favorite activity so far?" Elisa said, trying to change the subject.

"Good evening, campers."  Chiron's familiar deep voice rumbled merrily.  Leksi turned  her attention toward him, and the campfire quieted as others did the same.  "today, we have two new campers," he announced.  "Leksi, daughter of Apollo."  he turned to her and smiled.  Leksi blushed as the rest of the camp followed his gaze and stared at her. she was relieved when he continued his speech.  " and Miravi, daughter of Iris.  And now, to welcome them both, the Apollo cabin will perform for you."  Leksi followed the rest of her cabin to the front.   she tried to stand behind one of the older campers, who was much taller than she was, but he turned around and said "you're supposed to stand in the front."  Leksi didn't know the song she was supposed to play, and focused very hard on her music stand.  she played as quietly as she could, so no one would hear all the mistakes she was making. when the song was over she hurried back into the crowd of campers, standing by Miravi, the other new camper.   

Gerevnae watched as Chiron introduced the two new campers. She wasn't completely healed, but she was well enough that she was allowed to go to the campfire with everyone else. When the Apollo cabin played, she noticed that the new girl kept making mistakes. Of course, she couldn't be blamed for that.

Elisa gestured for Miravi to follow as she weaved between campers to get to Gerevnae. "How do you feel?" Elisa asked, hearing the mistakes of the new Apollo girl, then saw her rush back into the crowd.

Leksi looked around her, feeling lonely.  she recognized the girl from the Hydra attack and hoped she was okay.  leksi walked over to where she stood with two other girls, hoping to make some friends before the end of the night.

Leksi nodded, suddenly feeling shy

"Good job on the performance. You'll get used to performing. The Apollo cabin does a lot of stuff." Elisa said.

"i guess so... "  said Leksi, joining the line of campers getting food.  she noticed that everyone scraped part of their meal into the fire before they started eating.  Leksi was confused.  how could they waste food like that?
