Shadows Burning

Darkness regained self controll and lept on her dragon, following Ribbon and anything that would help them find Raindrop. Then, she realized she was on her dragon with Ribbon, flying through the air. She hoped the instructors wouldn't be mad.

Shadow was panicking. She knew that the bonding flight was vital for her relationship with her dragon. She began running in a random direction, barely aware of what she was doing.

Darkness heard twigs cracking and she told her dragon to go off in tha direction. But she didn't find who she was expecting.

Ribbon could hear movement behind her and knew that it was Darkness,having glimpsed her following. Then Darkness turned away, and she halfwanted to stop and follow, but knew she couldn't abandon Raindrop, who could be in trouble.

Shadow stopped to catch her breath. Suddenly she heard twigs cracking. She slunk towards the noise, quickly ducking behind a tree when she saw the source.

Darkness was thinking that she was on the right path. She passed a tree and whipped around to find Shadows, her emotions unreadable.

Ribbon couldn't hear Darkness and Growing at all anymore, and grew a little bit worried, but now it was impossible to turn back and find her.

Darkness was trying to decide between telling Shadows what had happened, or telling her to climb on.

Shadow was terrified at what she had just seen. It had seemed to be a living shadow! She peeked around the tree again, and almost laughed out loud at herself. It was just Darkness's dragon, with Darkness on top.

"Shadows! Shadows where are you!?" Darkness cried, hoping to find one friend at least.

"Darkness!" Shadows yelled, rushing out to her friend. "Am I teribbly late?" SHe asked worriedly.

 "Forget that! Raindrops dragon just rushed us and then it snatched her up and fled into the forest! Ribbon went after her. I heard you over hear so I raced hear, thinking I'd find her." Darkness rushed.

Wow, I missed a lot! Shadow thought. Just at that moment, a huge shadow fell over the clearing. A second later there was a loud whooshing sound and Burning swooped down out of the sky.

 "Come on Shadows! Just do the bonding flight now! Just say it was my fault and I made you and the others fly your dragons or something." Darkness said, quickening her words so they could find Raindrop.

(Should we wait for Raindrop before posting much more? I think she needs to post something.)

Raindrop squeezed her eyes shut, not daring to move.  there was something wrong with her dragon- that was sure.  then, suddenly, she felt a sickening lurch.  she was falling... falling...   she met the ground, and sooner than she expected.  dazed, she opened her eyes.  blood was everywhere, glistening on the grass and on the leaves.  Raindrop realized the blood was not hers, but her dragon's.  Dancing lay sprawled across the ground, barely breathing.  blood oozed from between her scales, dripping to the ground.  raindrop began to yell for help.  if her dragon didn't get help soon, Dancing would die.    

Shadow heard Raindrop's cry and straightened, alert. She mounted Burning awkwardly,deciding to find out who was in trouble.

Burning leaped into the air, and Shadow's stomach lurched. The farther they rose, the dizzier she became. SHe squeezed her eyes shut and hung on with all her strength.

The cries were getting louder and louder. Suddenly Burning halted, hovering. Shadow eased her eyelids open and took a peek down. SHe drew back up quickl, shuddering. Dancing, Raindrop's wingless dragon, appeared to be dying in a pool of blood. Raindrop was beside her, yelling.

SHadow knew that Dancing had to be transported back to the village, but how? They would need a strong dragon. But Burning was one of the weakest kinds of dragons, to make up for its powerful flame.

Shadow dared another peek. Her head reeled when she saw how far away the ground was. SHe lifted a shaking hand to wave to Raindrop and let her know help was on the way. Her hands were becoming sweaty, and as she leaned over farther so Raindrop could see her, her hand began to slip. Her thoughts were lost in a haze of panic, as she slipped farther a farther over the side of her dragon. Burning didn't seem to realize what was going on to his rider, and continued to hover. Without warning, Burning swooped down, and Shadow went flying of the back of her dragon. SHe plummeted towards the ground, parilyzed with fear. The last thing she saw before she hit she ground was Buring kneeling beside Dancing and licking the blood that was pooling on the ground. 

Hearing Raindrop's cries for help, Ribbon rushed forward towards thesound. She dismounted from Flowing's back, and hastily surveyed thescene around her. Blood was everywhere, seeping far too quickly fromDancing. Raindrop and Burning were by Dancing, Raindrop shouting forhelp, and Burning licking Dancing. Shadow was unconcious on the groundnearby. Trying her hardest to stay calm, she turned to her dragon. Flowing was quite a large dragon, and possibly could transport Dancing. "Do you think you could carry Dancing on your back?" she asked. "Please, Flowing. It's our only chance." The dragon dipped her head in what seemed to be a nod, and Ribbon turned to Raindrop. "Help me get Dancing onto Flowing. Burning can carry Shadow."
