Shadows Burning

Shadow nodded. "We have to try. Anyone have ropes?" She summoned Burning with her mind.

Darkness walked over to Growing's stable and took the rope that kept him in the stall off. "Got some!" Darkness called.

Shadow had forgotten about the ropes tethering the dragons. When Burning arrived, his was hanging, tattered, around his neck. He must have bitten it, Shadow thought. She untied it from his neck and then tied it securely to the end of Growing's rope.

Darkness walked carefully towards Dancing. She didn't want to startle the dragon.

"Which dragon will carry Dancing?" Shadow asked. "I don't think Burning is big enough."

"You could try attaching ropes to more than one, so they share the weight," Raindrop suggested quietly

Shadow nodded. "Good idea. C'mon, Burning, Growing, Flowing, Shimmering, Swaying."

Shimmering growled.  "He likes to be called Ro." Jasmine explained. 

Shadow snorted. She tied the ropes to Dancing so she would be lifted and held below the dragons when they flew.

"Let's go," she said. "And be careful of how you fly, we don't want to tangle or drop Dancing."

Raindrop nodded and approached Darkness and Growing.  "Can I ride with you?"  she asked. 

Shadow got on Burning. He tapped his claws restlessly, anxious to get going.

Raindrop noticed Burning's anxiety.  She felt the same way.  They had to leave quickly before they were caught with dancing.  Raindrop  gently patted Growing's side, then climbed on behind Darkness. 

The dragons took off.
