Shadows Burning

Suddenly, Shadow's mind went black. Flames slawly started to creep across her vision. She was looking at a bleak, charred landscape with a gray sky and jagged mountains in the distance. And ominous voice began speaking;

"A storm is approaching. And when it arrives, the Us will burn."

Then she was on Burning, looking down at the village. They began flying, very fast, and the land sped past beneath them. They flew over a small part of the jungle, and then they were at a tall mountain. There was a cave in the side of the mountain, and it was so dark that she couldn't see inside. They flew closer and closer, until they could see a glowing pair of eyes staring at them. Then the vision ended.

Shadow was unconcious. One sentence kept repeating itself over and over in her mind; The Us will burn. She bagan slipping form Burning's back.

Burning didn't notice that Shadow was slipping because he was busy preparing to do another loop-de-loop. He flapped his wings harder and harder until he was facing straight up. When he turned upside-down, his back suddenly felt lighter. He looked back over his shoulder. Shadow was gone.

Raindrop walked out of the Dragon Chamber.  She realised that tears were running down her cheeks.  furiously, she wiped at them.  She was being a baby.  Everything was going to be fine.  But deep down, she knew that everything wasn't fine.  There was something strange going on.  The nightmares, Dancing's infection, Shadow's repeated visions ending in unconciousness, they were all connected somehow, she just new it.  Raindrop took a deep breath and looked up at the sky, shading her eyes.  That's when she saw Shadow tumbling down to earth, silouhetted against the sun.  She had fallen off of burning.  Again.  Raindrop screamed, knowing there was nothing she could do.  Yes, something was definitely wrong.  And whatever it was, it may cost Shadow her life. 

Shadow tumbled on through the air, rapidly approaching the hard, unforgiving earth below. She was just about to reach the ground and her demise when suddenly...

Darkness saw Shadow look at her. Darkness was just about to wave when she felt Growing become uncomfortably hot. She tried to shift her position so that she could beat the heat, but found she couldn't move. Gold patterns on Growing back began to weave up onto her arms and legs, all while Growing got hotter and hotter. She felt the rush of Growing's feelings, and then it was gone. She sighed with relief. Then she looked down. And saw Shadow falling towards the ground. Not again, Darkness thought.

"Growing! Down!" Darkness shouted, clinging to Growing's back. They plummeted to the ground, and just when Shadow was about to be smashed into the ground, Growing swooped in a sort of loop, catching Shadow on his back.

Shadow was jolted awake when she landed on Growing's back. She frantically reached for one of the black dragon's spines to hold on to so she didn't fall again. She glanced at the ground fearfully and then quickly squeezed her eyes shut, trembling.

"What happened?" Darkness yelled, trying to be heard over the roaring wind.

"...I think I had another vision." Shadow said as loudly as she could.

Raindrop's eyes were wide, but she knew Shadow was safe now.  She waved for her friends to come dow so she could talk to them. 

"What did you see, Shadow?" Darkness asked.

Shadow just shook her head. "We should tell Midnight Calling and Daylight Wandering."

"Okay." Darkness said, urging Growing to land.

Shadow slid off of Growing, and when she landed her legs buckled underneath her. She pushed herself unsteadily back onto her feet. Her legs felt weak, and she could see them shaking.

Raindrop hurried to help her.  "Are you okay?  i think we should tell the leaders about these visions"

Ribbon and Flowing came out of a cloud to see Shadow practically fall off Growing. Flowing began to quickly spiral downwards, knowing what she wanted even before she asked. This, and the golden patterns on her forearms, was the result of their new bond.

Shadow's friends helped her to Midnight Calling and Daylight Wandering's house.

(Sorry I'm late!) Darkness was nervous. This was the second time Shadow had fallen off of her dragon.

Midnight Calling opened the door without a word and ushered them in. "Sit down." she said, motioning towards a cushion against one wall. "Now, what is it?"

"We all had these nightmares about creepy, half dragon things and then i found out that Dancing is really sick and she has an infection but no one know what it is and then Shadow had a vision, well actually she had some visions before that too, and she lost consciousness and fell off her dragon but darkness caught her and... we thought we should tell you" Raindrop blurted out. 

Darkness looked between Shadow and Raindrop. "Dancing is sick?" She mouthed.

"Yeah..." Said Shadow. "And there was this voice saying something like..." She recited the prophecy. Midnight calling listened solemnly.
