Shadows Burning

"What, you think I was about to give away some huge secret or something? I just couldn't think of what to say." Shadow said over her her shoulder.

"Sorry, I was just wondering." Darkness said, running to catch up.

Shadow noticed her favoriote climbing tree and leapt up to one of the branches. 

Ribbon hurried to catch up with her friends and climbed up next to Shadow. "How do you suppose the bonding flight will go for Raindrop and Dancing?" she wondered. "Not only is Dancing sick, she doesn't have wings. They can't expect her to fly."

"Maybe Dancing can run really fast on the ground, but Raindrop is probably going to have to wait until Dancing is better." Darkness suggested, grabbing onto on to one of the branches.

"Yeah, I've been wondering that too...." Shadow said. "Is she gonna have to wait, or is she gonna get some sort of special treatment or something?"

"Dunno." Said Darkness, quickly climbing the branches to catch up with Shadow.

Shadow noticed it starting to get lighter outside. "We should probably head back if we want to make it in time for the ceremony", she said, jumping down from the tree.

Ribbon dropped out of the branches to land next to Shadow. "Why don't we go see if Raindrop is up yet?" she suggested.

"Okay," Shadow said. She walked back down the path with her friends. Soon they reached the edge of the woods.

Raindrop felt warmth on her face. she opened her eyes, but quickly closed them again. the sun was still weak, but it was shining right on her. she groaned and sat up, wondering if her friends were awake. Lily, Jasmine, and Star were all asleep, but the others' beds were empty. where had they gone?

Shadow jogged across to their tower and raced up the stairs three at a time. When she got into the bedroom, she saw that Raindrop was awake. "Good morning," she said brightly, "Are you ready for the bonding flight?"

Raindrop sighed.  "I would be, but I don;t think Dancing is.

Ribbon entered the room behind Shadow. "Should we wake up the others? We might want to get ready."
