Shadows Burning

"I dunno," Ribbon answered as they entered the healing tower. "It's impossible to tell."

"Yes. It is impossible to tell, but I just don't get it. Dancing snatches up Raindrop and bolts into the woods. I'm just stumped." Darkness said.

"Look, Shadows is still unconcious, or maybe she is asleep."

(I think she said she woke up.)

meanwhile, Raindrop was alone in their tower, fast asleep after all the excitement.  But strange dreams haunted her.  gleaming white fangs, dripping blood, detatched dragon wings leaking murky gray goo, and a horrible creature that seemed to be half dragon half man.  then the same prophecy she'd heard the night before echoed through her head, entangling itself in all the horrible images she'd seen, and growing louder and louder untill she woke, screaming, and drenched in sweat.   

"It's getting late. Do you think we should get to bed, Ribbon?" Darkness asked looking back towards the entrance.

"Probably. We'll have to be rested for the bonding flight. I'm guessing we'll do that tomorrow."

"How much trouble do you think we're in?" Darkness asked.

"No idea. Probably a lot."

"I would think so. We did leave without permission."

Raindrop heard her friends' footsteps approaching and burrowed under the covers, pretending to be asleep.  she didn't want to talk about the days events or her strange dream. 

Darkness stepped into thier room and went over to her bed. A long day tomorow. Tons of trouble today. Most likely a punishment too. She thought.

Shadow woke with a jolt. She heard screaming coming from the bed next to hers, and turned to see Raindrop, sweat glistening on her forhead. Suddenly there were footsteps approaching, and Shadow saw Raindrop duck beneath the covers. A few moments later Darkness walked into the room.

Not long after Darkness, Ribbon went into the room. Shadow seemed to be awake, and she couldn't tell if Raindrop was or not.

Shadow watched silently as Ribbon came into the room.

Lying down on her bed, Ribbon pondered the day's events. It all seemed so crazy, the kind of thing that would only happen in a dream, but it was real. When finally she drifted off to sleep, she dreamt of Burning, refusing to budge. They argued and argued until Burning grew larger and seemed to become part man. Suddenly the strange prophecy echoed through her head, a persistent voice she couldn't shut out.

Darkness was not yet asleep. She slowly turned her head to face Ribbon. She seemed as if she were having some kind of nightmare. Silently, Darkness slipped out of bed and crept up to Ribbon.

Ribbon jerked upright, feeling feverish and a bit dizzy, to find Darkness standing over her.

Darkness gave a small jolt. Ribbon looked dazed. Slowly Darkness Said, "What happened?"

"A nightmare. And I heard the prophecy from last night again. It had better not come every night or I'll never get any sleep," Ribbon answered. She slowly lay back down and tried to relax, exhausted and still dizzy.

 Darkness looked at Ribbon supiciously. "What else?"
