Shadows Burning

Shadow was still unconcious. Burning grabbed his master in his small claws clumsily, and with great effort, began to lug Shadow along behind everyone else. 

(shadow, you called me shimmering back on page 5, its singing!)

singing patted over and fell into step beside burning."Burning, I haven't forgotten the old ways one bit, infact I think about them every day and struggle to keep myself from using them.''she said."Now things are different, you need to understand that. Now we have masters and so do  Dancing and Flowing and Growing and all of them.And instead of thinking how devistated their masters would be if you ate them you get all defensive and say we have gotten soft.I'm glad you finally gave in, thank you."and with that star hopped onto singings back and they flew off to catch up with the rest.

Darkness stepped quietly toward Burning. She was trying to get Shadows onto Burning's back better.

Raindrop looked around, hesitating. 

everything is okay now. she told herself.  everything is going to be fine.  but she couldn't shake the feeling of terror that was crowding her mind. 

Midnight Calling approached her. Raindrop looked up at her gentle expression. 

"come Raindrop."  she said, "you may ride back with me."

Darkness had almost reached Shadows and Burning. Come on....... just a little closer...... Darkness was only about a foot away now.

Burning stared daggers at Singing's back, loathing every inch if the silver dragon. Once something is already resolved, He silently fumed, It certainly does not help to bring it up again! Then Burning noticed Darkness creeping up on him.

"What do you want, girl?" He rumbled angrily.

Darkness nearly jumped out of her skin when Burning spoke to her.

"I was just..... Shadows...... Umm...." Darkness took a shaky breath.

"Inoticed that Shadows is slipping off your back, I want to put her on soshe won't fall off.' Darkness said, puting a hand on Shadow's back.

Burning dipped his head.

"That would be helpful." And he offered his back to Darkness. 

Relief pumped through Darkness's veins. Slowly, she pushed Shadows onto Burning's back. It looked a little weird, but now Shadow's wouldn't fall off.

Raindrop clung tightly to calling as the dragons took off and flew back to the Us camp. 

Darkness called to Growing and waited for Burning to take off into the air. Travel might be bumpy, and Shadows could easily fall off. Not wanting to go back and explore the woods a little more, Darkness hung back a little.

Shadow woke with a jolt as Burning leapt into the air. She grabbed around frantically, her thoughts still a haze, searching for something to hold on to. She managed to wrap her arms around Burning's neck and cling on for dear life before she passed out again.

Darkness saw the frantic movments of Shadows on Burning's back. After she had clung tightly onto Burning's neck, she slumped down on the dragon. Steadily, Darkness urged Growing to take the leap into the open air.

        Darkness was deep in thought. What was wrong with Dancing? Charging after us, and then snatching up Raindrop and running into the forest, where Dancing bashed it's head into a rock?Dancing just must have been ....... What was Dancing doing?

When Shadow regained consciousness, she was in the healing tower of the village. She tried to sit up, but a sudden stabbing pain in her head sent her back down, wincing.

When Ribbon and Flowing had gotten back to the village with Dancing, Dancing had been taken away to be given care, and Ribbon was left alone. Ribbon decided to go to the healing tower and see if Shadow had woken up yet.

Darkness was taking care of Growing when she saw Ribbon heading off towards the healing tower. Darkness quickly told Growing that she was going with Ribbon. Darkness turned and walked after Ribbon, breaking into a small jog as she did.

"Hey," Ribbon said as Darkness caught up to her. "why do you think Dancing acted that way? You know, rearing and charging and carrying off Raindrop."

"I don't know. It's weird enough that all these weird things happened today. Do you think that maybe, Dancing was trying to escape having a master? Like Burning wanted to eat Dancing? Maybe their just not used to going through not being wild anymore." Darkness replied.
